A Message from
KELSEY L. CAMPBELL
our
2009 CTJRA Queen
Our rodeo season has gotten off to a great start. Our first rodeo in Tonasket was a welcome addition to our schedule. Everyone there went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Our next rodeo in Okanogan was again a success. This has always been one of my favorite rodeos and still is. It always amazes me the amount of hours everyone puts into these rodeos to make sure we, the contestants, have a safe and successful competition. I don't think they are thanked enough. So if you see any of these special people walking around make sure you tell them how much they are appreciated. I hope every CTJRA member got their sponsorship fee in by the weekend of our points only rodeo. I would hate to see someone miss out on yearend awards. What a great rodeo it was. I would personally like to thank our board and their families for their hard work and dedication to our association and also for all our members and their families that make it possible for us to enjoy the sport of rodeo. The people in the cook shack did an awesome job in the hot sun making sure everyone got fed. Great food and friendly smiles. Thanks to my mom for bringing items for the silent auction. Just remember that without these volunteers we would not have such a great association so again please take the time to thank each and everyone of them.
As for myself, I have been busy trying to get sponsors, which is not easy in these hard economic times, but I keep trying. I was able to participate in the Moses Lake Torchlight parade and I have a couple more parades coming up. I was also very busy finishing up my senior year at Wilson Creek High School. I graduated with honors May 31st, the day after the points only rodeo. It was a great weekend for me winning the breakaway, steer daubing, placing in barrels then, Graduating. Our next rodeo is coming up at Ritzville, hope to see everyone there. Drive safe and happy trails.
